Elisabeth + Jordan | Aspen Fall Wedding

posted in: Colorado, Weddings | 2

Elisabeth & Jordan got married on October 1st 2016 and it was such a pleasure capturing their special day and getting to know them over the year since we took their engagement photos last fall. The wedding took place at the Smuggler mine and it was such a gorgeous location with the Aspen mountain and view of downvalley as a backdrop. The weather worked out perfectly and we had a warm, sunny October day with abundance of colors and some extraordinary clouds for sunset photos.

Since we took engagement photos at a not-that-easy-to-reach location, I knew this was not going to be an ordinary wedding. The dress code didn’t allow for ties or heels, and the ceremony was setup at an entrance to an old mine. As a couple that has traveled around the world together, Elisabeth and Jordan decided not to have a sit down dinner, but instead have food stations from all the countries they’ve traveled to – what a brilliant idea!

A lot of the behind the scenes work and decor was done by family and friends which made it extra special for the couple.

And for us – it was a great day of enjoying work, seeing some old friends and making new ones, and staying until the late hours to capture some photos under the stars!

btx_ej_sm-345Highlights: Around midnight, after the party has been going on for quite some time now, the couple gets the idea that it’s a good time to sign the Marriage License – it was fun 10 minutes of not knowing who needs to sign what and where, and trying to locate the Officiant that might have the answers 🙂
